Well, here it is, August already! The kids are going back to school next week! Hallelujah!!! I'm ready! They're not, but too bad. My house will go back to staying somewhat clean, anyway. At least it won't be destroyed within the hour that it was cleaned.
I do believe I feel fall a little early too. I love fall! Not sure if I'm ready for it yet.....but...if it's to be...then it's too be. Fall goes along with school, I guess. I must say, that I am somewhat melancholy. My baby is going to be a 4th grader and my first born is going to 8th grade. I am getting so old! Gonna hit the BIG 4-0 this year. Oh, boy! Not sure if I'm ready for that. But at least I have good friends to drown my sorrows with. Here's to best friends!
I haven't done much scrapping lately...been to busy. Hopefully that will change soon.
Well...I suppose. I think I might read a bit before bed. Night all!

Ughhhhh! It's Monday!
Have youe ever seen the green looking fuzzy person holding a coffee cup in any of your emails? That's about how I feel today. Tired, crabby, needing caffiene to even think about functioning to one quarter of my capacity level. It's that bad!
Have you ever cut wood for a weekend? With my father? No, probably not. Well.........let me just tell you....it's like when you're at work and you want to check your email without getting caught, so you constantly are on your guard to see if anyone is watching. You don't stand around when you're with my dad, no siree. You work....and you work hard....VERY HARD! I have moved brush, stacked wood, raked sawdust and leaves and small branches. I have blocked off the street, I have held logs while sawdust has splashed in my face. I nailed my thigh (front and back, mind you) with a large tree branch that curled around my leg, unknowingly. My loving husband ran into my calf with the bobcat bucket (yeah, baby...that hurt!) when he got to close and obviously, I wasn't paying attention.
I did all this for my father for 2 days! I am one tired puppy! I sit here at work and just wish I could go home and go back to bed! I even went to bed early. This is why I am not one for manual labor! My body goes into protest after it's all over.
The one good thing that came out of all this is that my dad was proud of me for busting my hump! And do you know why I busted my hump? (This would be my dad's comment to my step mom) - I'm good stock! What am I, cattle? Oh well.......I got a loving comment and a hug. What more can a daughter ask for?
My advice to you......if your dad asks you to do something, that consists of manual labor....tell him you're busy! :)
Hugs to my peeps!

Spring is here!
Good afternoon to all!
What a beautiful day! The sun is shining, the air is warm, the house is clean and the dishes and laundry are done! All is right with the world! I love these kinds of days. I'm sitting here surfing the net, when I feel like I should be doing a little something! There's always something to do...but, I have to say, I'm pretty content to just sit here for once and surf, while watching tv. I have plenty of cards that I could be making. I've got stuff I need to put on ebay. I could finish my book. But, nope! Here I sit! Ain't life GREAT! :) (Maybe I'll take a nap later! :) ) These are the days! Too bad they all can't be this way!
I just want to shout out to my peeps! Love ya! Have a great day!

Hello All!
Hello to all! It's been awhile since I've blogged. I do believe that life has gotten in the way! My mom was here from SC, my boys have started golf and baseball and we are running to and fro! Not to mention the time that I am trying to spend with my friends. Some days it feels like we live on totally separate planets! I love them dearly, live in the same town and it seems to me that I hardly ever get to see them. We talk on the phone if a need arises, or just to say hey! These days, I do believe the phone calls are stress related. The economy bites, people are losing their jobs and/or are being cut back. It's rough here in Elkhart County! All we can do is pray that things get better!
On a good note, I do believe that somehow, I am finding a little time to craft. Well, I guess I do have an extra day off during the week. (Work is slow)To heck with the housecleaning, the laundry and the errands! Crafters unite! Let's create! I'll be doing some graduation invitations for my sister in law, this week. I'll post those when I'm finished. The trial one turned out great! She really liked it. We made a few changes and I'll work on them on Wed.
Have a great week everyone!
Love to my peeps!

Who else likes flatbread?
Is there anyone else out there who likes flatbread sandwiches from Subway? Well, like them no more! They are gone, finished, out....to be made no more. I do believe, I just felt a little piece of my heart break off! They were so yummy! And now there gone.......quoting "For a limited time only". Well........fooey on you! She tells me that if I want to see them come back, everyone must flood the office with complaints and letters, etc. So I say.....WE MUST UNITE! We must do as they say! Come back to me o'flatbread, come back! :)
Have a great day all!

I love it when a card comes together!

I love it when that happens! I actually got to scrap today! I worked on a couple of swaps that I joined on Splitco. I had most of the day to myself for once! That hasn't happened in a long time! The house is clean, the laundry is done! The kids are back from their practices, we've eaten and all is right with the world......for now! We might have found a roomie for my brother in law and someone stepped up and is going to try and help him out. Thank you Lord!
Anyway...........check out my new Whipper Snapper Stamp! Don't you just love him! He's the turtle and the frog.
I also did a bookmark swap and used Bugs & Kisses. I love that set! If you didn't have time to scrap today, try to find some this weekend. How relaxing, how soothing......and you get something out of it in return!
Have a great weekend, ladies!

Money, money, money!
Why, why why do we need money? Is it so that we can be forced to part with what we have worked so hard far? I do believe so. If we want to have the convenience of talking to someone else while not being in the same room, we are forced to pay a phone bill. If we want to get to from one place to another without walking, we are forced to purchase a vehicle, keep insurance on it, put gas in it and maintain it. And this is so that we can be legal about it. Now, let's talk about keeping a roof over your head. If you don't want to be homeless, you must purchase some form of a home. Then, you must purchase insurance for this as well. And if you don't want to freeze to death or die of heat stroke, you must purchase some form of heating and cooling source. And if you don't want to starve to death while living in your home, you must purchase food and a source to cook it. Not to mention a washer and dryer, if you don't want to stink to high heaven or wear dirty clothes.
In purchasing all the above things this takes away from any money you might want to spend elsewhere....you know.....like for something fun! Something that you don't have to have.
And do you know what happens if you can't pay for all of these things, mentioned above. THEY shut it off! THEY take it away! And then we have to do without. Can I just say....MONEY STINKS!
I do feel a little better after my venting, but not much! My brother in law is going through some things right now and needless to say.....he's living like a pioneer right now! No electric, no water, no heat! He's behind in mortgage and vehicle payments and to boot someone stole his debit card number!
No one wants to help, that can. People that want to help, can't. The economy stinks right now, people aren't working, money's not coming in, but the bills are still coming!
All we can do right now is pray! Pray that things get better! Pray that he doesn't lose his house. Pray that he finds a better job.
Thanks for listening to me vent! And this too shall pass.

O Happy Day!
Good morning! Good morning! Good morning! How is everyone this fine morning!!! The sun is shining!!! The temperature has risen!! And all is right with the world!! :) It is Friday in my world and I'm glad for it!! Too bad I can't say the same for yesterday! How many of you have 13 year olds? We took my 13 year old son shopping for shoes last night. 4....count them....4 stores later, we still had no shoes! He's as bad as a girl! His feet grow at least 1/2 to 1 full size about every 6-9 months. No way am I paying $60.00 for shoes that he is only going to wear that long! Am I nuts??...Am I unfeeling??....I think that I remember my mother going through the same thing, except girls are different, right? Apparently not, in my case. Anyhoo....I guess we get to out again on Friday.....I'm so excited....I think my heart is racing! NOT! If he doesn't find any, I do believe the dear boy is out o luck! OK...........so I'll probably just take him to another store, until we find some! What these kids put us through! Ya gotta love'em! :)
Have a great day all! I hope to finish some more swaps this weekend....but only if it's raining. I've got cabin fever! Think Spring everyone! :)

Down Time!

Well, I finally had some downtime this weekend! I got a couple swaps done. (See my cards below.) We had a little bit of nice weather this weekend. We got to take the girls (our cocker spaniel puppies) out for 3 walks. It was great! Even though we did have to bathe them when we were through. It was a little muddy and wet out there. But....we're happy ...we'll take what we can get right now.
Did anyone watch Oprah's Big Give? I wasn't going to....but it was on and I was crafting...and I wasn't about to get up and go into the other room to change the channel. Anyway...talk about a tear jerker! Jeeesh! There are just so many people out there in need and it makes me realize how sometimes things just get so hectic and I start to take everything for granted. Lord, make me humble! It was a good show, to Oprah's credit. She makes these people that signed up for her show go out and earn money to change people's lives. Most of them did a good job! I think I cried through most of it!
It definitly makes me send up a few words of thanks for what I do have. I'll have to be sure to give my husband and kids big hugs and kisses tonight!
Have a great Monday everyone! Good night!

TGIT?
Thank goodness it's Thursday! Friday for me! It's been awhile since I've been on, or so I'm told. It's been a rough few weeks. The weather has been lousy! We've seen more snow these past few months than we have in the last 5 years! I hate it! It can leave anytime. Along with that, my husband came down with the flu.....and I mean bad! He's not normally one to get sick and this one knocked him on his butt for a week! Women were not meant to be single parents. Kudos to all you women out there who are! I get down on my knees and bow down to you! The cleaning, the laundry, the cooking, the kids! Whooo! I don't care to repeat that anytime soon. I am SPOILED! I'll be the first to admit it!
He finally went back to work today...woohoo! Come to find out later...he was sick again this morning, but stuck it out anyway.....what a MAN! All I can say is.....if you get this nasty stuff, you better plan on being quarantined for at least 5-7 days if not longer! Doctor or no doctor.
Since he's finally on the mend, maybe I"ll actually be able to sit down and work on some long, overdue cards and swaps that need to be finished. We'll see..............Have a great weekend everybody!

Yaaay for the weekend!

What a long week! No day off for me this week! Saturday is already gone and I haven't done any scrapping or any card making in probably a week. What is wrong with me. I did have stamp club though. It's sale-a-bration time in Stampin Up. I got the cute scalloped set of stamps. I can't wait until it comes, so that I can try it out. I ordered some new cardstock and a new roller and some new designer paper. It should be here next week, I hope. If you guys don't have a SU demo, you should. Their products rock! So does CTMH, but I don't want to sound biased. Have a great night everyone!
P.S. I've added a post of the card that I sent in for a swap. It was a lot of fun! What do you think?

I'm soooooooooooo tired!
Long day at work....I'm so tired. Yet when I'm at work, all I want to do is come home and go to my craft table. How can that be? I keep thinking of all the things that I could be doing or making, yet when I get here, I think.......maybe later! Does anyone else ever get like that? Where's my get up and go.....my gumption? The kids are both mad and in their room, dear husband is watching tivo, now is the perfect opportunity. Yet something holds me back. I know that I have several swaps that I need to complete. But...they're not due until March and April....I guess I am ahead of the game. What's a girl to do.....I guess I'll just have to stamp. Maybe I'll finally get the nerve to download some of my stuff so that you may see.
Have a great night ladies!!

What's in a name?
So.....one of my wonderful sisters on Bellaholics Anonymous sent me a link to .....What's in a name? I checked on the name of my blog and this is what it came up with.....and let me just say...it couldn't be more true. I mean it's kind of scary, but it's right on.
What Stampin Scraps Means
You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong. You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know. You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life. You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You're most comfortable when you're far away from home. You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated. You master any and all skills easily. You don't have to work hard for what you want. You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you'll knock down anyone who gets in your way!You are influential and persuasive. You tend to have a lot of power over people.Generally, you use your powers for good. You excel at solving other people's problems.Occasionally, you do get a little selfish and persuade people to do things that are only in your interest. You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing. You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long. You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start. You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals. You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily. You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind.A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable. You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun. Sounds just like me!

So....I'm kinda new at this blog thing. I'll probably stumble a little along the way. Be gentle. If anyone has any tips on how to run this thing, I'm open to them.
My name is Dawn Springer and I'm addicted to scrapping and stamping and shopping for all the supplies that it takes to do so. Luckily, I'm a CTMH consultant.....I can feed my habit at a discount.
My husband partially supports my habit....as long as he doesn't know how much I'm spending and he doesn't see me adding to it....he's OK with it. What a great guy!
My kids think I have too much stuff...but what child doesn't think that their mother goes off the deep end about something. They never complain when they need a marker, colored pencil or some type of adhesive. Who's the momma then....that's right....ME!
